Michael Hartmann

Long texts are often exhausting for me—but reading helps me understand—at my last job, I never read more than three lines at a time.
Then I had to move on—I didn't have time—I was important—meeting—door opens, question comes—direct answer—immediate decision—ping—email—phone—cell phone is on silent—landline rings—ping—email... and that's how it was all week, all year... and in the morning at the hotel, I first had to think about where I was... Not anymore.

If you're more into resumes, feel free to check out linkedin.com/in/michael-hartmann-cologne or scroll down and see my working experience  – but first, let's get personal.

Born in '68, no kids, a few chickens, some of which are retired and all privately insured. They all have names and personalities. Olaf, for example, was almost 6 years old and arrived before COVID. Olaf was not a rooster, and Congo is black as night, and they lived peacefully together in the same coop. That's how it is in Cologne—and that's fine—confusing for some, but if you don't understand, it doesn't matter. And just to be clear, no one who lives with us or visits us is eaten. I've caught up, but I can't lay eggs, and I don't have to anymore. Incidentally, I've made the transition from being a daily vegetarian to refusing to eat animals. Nobody needs to be interested in that, but I want to say it out loud, and then it becomes easier for me every day to not want to eat meat sandwiches.
I am an avid golfer. For me, golf is like a meditative excursion to clear my own hard drive. Sorting, but not formatting. If you understand this, great, if not, just ask Chat-GPT. I have the athletic incentive to play very well and have also trained as a golf instructor.

By the way, it's no surprise that I'm deep purple red personality —Ral 3004—for blue.

For some reason, I wanted to be a professional golfer, which I am, and it would be great if my ball knew that too. My perception of the ball is often very different from my expectations—when it gets lost in the thicket—the expectations or the ball? It doesn't matter.

I have international experience, having lived abroad for more than 10 years. I know all about moving house, changing countries, and exchanging money. I gained a lot of experience at Accor, a French hotel group that operates worldwide. It was nice there—but “the French” are just different (I even wrote a book about it—not a serious one—there's nothing in it—seriously). I thought I'd stay for two weeks, but then it turned into over 20 good years.  I worked my way up from sales manager to deputy vice president of sales. It sounds interesting, and it often was, but not always. Nevertheless, I am very grateful that hardly any boss was my “superior” for more than 12 months – I know how to deal with clueless rulers – circumvent them – until they pass away – or just leave.

Who do I like?
People with integrity and strong values. Prudence and fairness are important to me. A healthy balance, everyone contributes their share, whether large or small, but everyone contributes.
If you now think “he has Bahlsen's disease,” meaning “he's a little crazy,” then that's fine... and if you feel compelled to do so, you can follow that impulse towards me... or away from me.
I will use a good portion of the money I earn wisely. Maybe another chicken for myself or a chicken for others who need it more.

And if you don't need me, I'll go back to golfing—for myself—feed the chickens, and have my peace.
